Earlier this week, I was invited to an opening event for the brand spankin’ new Lush Swansea store. It has relocated to 808 Oxford Street in Swansea and, I have to say, the new store is looking wonderful! It’s a lot bigger than the old store and means you don’t have to be squished like a sardine in a tin to get to your fave products, which is always a good thing if you value your breathing space! Lush are one of my favourite skincare brands, because they don’t irritate my skin like some others do, so I had to jump at this opportunity!
In a world of social media and emails, I can see why people find it so hard to give themselves some self care and just relax. My boyfriend often tells me “Ok Siobhan, you’re out of work now, stop talking about it” because I find it difficult to switch off if I’ve had a particularly bad day. The thought of going home at the end of a shift, having a cheese and crisp sandwich and moulding into the sofa makes me ridiculously happy, but my mind still does overtime once I’m there.
Although I’m buzzing inside for Christmas (yeah, I’m one of THOSE), I can’t help but do a lil shimmy when I see a bit of sun – which isn’t often, as it seems to pour down whenever I’ve got a day off work *rolls eyes all the way back to the 1990’s*.
I’ve been a bit lost in a quarter life crisis lately (it exists!), so I thought I’d publicly declare my goals for July so that I can be shamed if I don’t stick to them.
Hello lovelies! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!
I’m a big fan of Lush products, and would sell my right arm to live a little closer to the Cardiff store just so I could go and inhale the whole shop every single day. A girl can dream, right?
Over the past couple of weeks my skin has been feeling lovely jubbly and I’d like to think it’s down to these four products. I have quite dry skin, especially on my forehead and the sides of my nose, but all of these products worked brilliantly in getting rid of a pizza face that I had developed from consuming too many Dominos!
For a few months I’ve been eyeing up several different marble-topped side tables for my living room (because who doesn’t love marble?) but the price of the majority of them was enough to give me palpitations, so I thought I’d have a go at making one instead.
I am dreadful at DIY so I’m not sure when I decided that this would a good idea, but I went for it anyway. You only live once and all that jazz!
Today I went down my Mum’s house to cat-sit as she is in Scotland, and I thought I’d do a bit of baking. Now, what you need to know is me and ovens don’t usually go well together, but it was a success! What you also need to know is how gloomy and miserable it was today. Storm Doris is dying down, but it was still pretty grim outside so i apologise in advance for the grainy pictures! Thanks a bunch, Doris!
Oooh, first post – the pressure!
As you may have guessed already, I’m Siobhan. (Pronounced Shiv-orn if you’re wondering!)
I wanted to start off by telling you why I wanted to start a blog (again. I made one a long while ago, but forgot all about it). Over the past year or two, I’ve been having a bit of a quarter life crisis. I got a new job in the NHS, bought my very first house with my lovely boyfriend, and finally plucked up the courage to learn to drive (and passed)! These are all massive positives but there still seems like there’s a big hole in ma soul, y’know?
So, this blog is a creative outlet for me, something to give me motivation to leave my relationship with my comfy bed behind, and try my hand at different things.
I hope you’ll welcome me with open arms into the blogosphere!
